William Lam is the principal solicitor of Lam Legal Group, a Sydney criminal defence practice, and has nine years’ experience in criminal law. He was admitted as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of NSW in 2015 and is a member of Legal Aid NSW’s summary, indictable and children’s criminal law panels.
His work covers bail applications, drug offences, assault and domestic violence charges, AVOs and traffic matters. He appears regularly in the Local, District and Supreme Courts, most often at the Bankstown, Parramatta, Liverpool, Burwood and Downing Centre Local Courts.
Clients deal with William directly, from the first call to the final court date. He takes calls after hours and on weekends, because arrests don’t happen in business hours.
William started his career at the height of heavy police operations at NSW music festivals, and has since helped many clients charged at festivals and events. That experience has given him a close understanding of how drug laws and police powers play out there, from drug detection dogs and searches to the charges that follow.
William graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2014 with a Bachelor of Commerce (with Distinction) and a Bachelor of Laws. He attended North Sydney Boys High School.
